Terry Burns is a neurosurgeon scientist focused on intra-axial adult brain tumors. His NIH-funded research laboratory strives to improve the translational pipeline of novel therapies combating gliomas and the sequelae of their treatment. By enabling improved longitudinal feedback from the brain tumor microenvironment, he aims to transform the focus of clinical trials from individual drugs to patient-centered algorithms that learn fast enough to make a difference with each patient's lifetime. He serves as PI for several investigator-initiated clinical trials and as chair of the Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center's Neuro-oncology Disease Group.
