Dr. Richardson is Director of Functional Neurosurgery at Massachusetts General Hospital, Charles Pappas Professor of Neurosciences at Harvard Medical School, and Visiting Professor of Brain and Cognitive Sciences at MIT. He completed the MD-PhD program at Virginia Commonwealth University and neurosurgical residency at the University of California, San Francisco. He then directed the Epilepsy and Movement Disorders Surgery program at the University of Pittsburgh, where he founded the Brain Modulation Lab, a systems neuroscience lab centered in human intracranial electrophysiology. Since 2019 he’s directed the Functional Neurosurgery division at MGH, where his practice includes comprehensive pediatric and adult epilepsy surgery, deep brain stimulation for movement disorders and OCD, and experimental gene and cell therapy.
