Sarah Hamimi is a rising fourth-year medical student at the Perelman School of Medicine (PSOM) at the University of Pennsylvania. She graduated with a B.S. and M.S. in Neuroscience from Johns Hopkins University. Her research interests include neural repair, and understanding the pathophysiology of brain injury, neuronal plasticity, and chronic pain. Her current project in the lab focuses on exploring strategies to optimize organoid transplantation following traumatic brain injury. At PSOM, Sarah was co-president of the Penn Global Surgery Group, Penn Medicine Advocacy Coalition, and the Squish Squash Club. She was also a volunteer leader with the Center for Surgical Health and co-coordinator of the Heart Health Bridge to Care clinic. Sarah was born and raised in Alexandria, Egypt. In her free time, she enjoys watching Formula 1, running, and playing squash.
