Dr. Christopher S. Hong is a neurosurgeon-scientist who has a focus in surgically focused clinical trial design and correlating tumor genomics with patient outcomes. Dr. Hong’s clinical interests are in tumors of the brain and skull base. He obtained his bachelor of arts degree in in Human Evolutionary Biology at Harvard University, followed by his medical doctorate degree at The Ohio State University. During his medical school training, he performed a post-baccalaureate research year at the National Institutes of Health in the Surgical Neurology Branch. He subsequently completed his residency training in neurosurgery at Yale University and is currently a clinical fellow in endoscopic and open skull base surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. Dr. Hong is committed to academic research and teaching and maintains membership in neurosurgical societies, including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the North American Skull Base Society, and the Society for Neuro-Oncology. He presents his research regularly at national and international meetings. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed journal articles and several book chapters. Outside of neurosurgery, Dr. Hong is a former professional cyclist and current avid amateur who continues to enjoy road and mountain biking in his spare time.
