Giada Garufi, MD at Hospital Papardo, University of Messina.
Dr Giada Garufi, MD is a graduate of University of Messina, Sicily where she also attended his undergraduate studies, where graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Neurosurgery. During her residency Dr. Garufi trained at the neurosurgery department of University Hospital of Messina, Messina. During his residency, she was able to provide superior care and consultation that resulted in an overall improvement of the department's patient satisfaction quotient. During the residency, she completed a fellowship at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN in Vascular Neurosurgery and in Skull base Neurosurgery. Before and after completing the residency, Dr Garufi started a training in robotic vertebral surgery at Papardo Hospital, Messina, Sicily, and then Barcelona, Spain, Lingen, Germany, and Gent, Belgium, gaining experience with robotic systems and the treatment of the degenerative and traumatic pathologies of the cervico-dorso-lumbar spine.
Dr Garufi has been practicing at Papardo Hospital, Messina, Sicily, Italy since 2023, one of the top public hospitals which invested in robotic spine surgery in Italy and works in conjunction with researchers to pioneer clinical research which focuses on short and long term results of this new discipline.
Currently, Dr Garufi is working at Papardo Hospital as a neurosurgeon with particular experience in robotic spine surgery and she is attending a PhD in Applied Biology and Experimental Medicine at University of Messina, studying on the role of the regenerative medicine, monocytes and stem cells, in degenerative pathologies of the spine.
