Research Fellow
Medical University Of South Carolina
My name is Hasna Loulida, and I’m a medical doctor from Morocco with a strong passion for neurovascular research and global health. I earned my M.D. from Cadi Ayyad Medical University in Marrakech in April 2021, graduating in the top 10% of my class. Since then, my journey has taken me to the U.S., where I’m currently a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Neurosurgery at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), working under the mentorship of Dr. Alejandro Spiotta.
At MUSC, I’ve had the opportunity to lead and contribute to more than 17 research projects focused on stroke, intracranial aneurysms, and other complex neurovascular conditions. My work includes retrospective and prospective studies, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses. I’m deeply involved in all stages of research, from designing studies and collecting data using tools like EPIC and REDCap to performing statistical analysis and writing manuscripts. I also actively collaborate with fellows, residents, and mentors across the department, including teams in neurotrauma and spine.
Outside of research, I’m passionate about volunteer work. I’ve been involved with organizations such as the Lalla Salma Foundation for Cancer Prevention, A Glimmer of Hope Association, and You Can Save Me, where I helped provide medical support, educated communities on health issues, and even cared for injured or abandoned animals.
I speak Arabic, French, and English fluently, and I’m conversational in Spanish. In my free time, I enjoy swimming, traveling, creating content on social media, and supporting youth development programs. I'm driven by curiosity, compassion, and a strong desire to make healthcare more accessible and impactful, locally and globally.
