Amelia Stepniak, M.S. is a first-year medical student at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She earned her B.S. in Biology with a minor in Anthropology from Emory University and defended her master's in Neurobiology at Northwestern University under the advisement of Dr. Atique Ahmed. Her thesis explored how elevated levels of L-2-hydroxyglutarate contribute to chemoresistance in glioblastoma through metabolic reprogramming. Amelia’s current research with Dr. Gary Kohanbash focuses on elucidating the dynamic roles of B cells across various subtypes of pediatric brain tumors.
