Dr. Edgar M. Carrasco is a board-certified neurosurgeon specializing in minimally invasive neurosurgery, neuroendoscopy, neurovascular surgery. He earned his medical degree from San Francisco Xavier University in Bolivia (2003) and completed his neurosurgical residency at the Hospital de Clínicas "José de San Martín", University of Buenos Aires, Argentina (2010), under the mentorship of Dr. Armando Basso.
Furthering his expertise, he trained in minimally invasive techniques with the International Federation of Neuroendoscopy (IFNE) and the Aesculap Academy, culminating in a fellowship at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital – Weill Cornell Medical Center (2012).
Dr. Carrasco is currently a consultant neurosurgeon at Hospital San Juan de Dios and Caja de Salud de la Banca Privada in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, with a focus on cerebrovascular surgery, neurotrauma, neuroendoscopy, and spine surgery.
