Nnaemeka (Meka) Nwoke, B.S., is a third-year medical student at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine (BUCASM) with a keen interest in neurosurgery and clinical research. Born and raised in Enugu, Nigeria, he moved to the United States in 2014 to pursue higher education, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Psychology from the University of South Florida (USF) in 2018. Prior to starting medical school in 2023, he gained valuable experience in medical education and patient care, working at the USF Morsani College of Medicine and a neurology clinic, respectively.
At BUCASM, Meka is actively engaged in neurosurgical and hematology research, focusing on clinical outcomes and healthcare disparities in underserved populations. He also serves as a peer advisor and tutor for first-year medical students, providing mentorship and academic support.
Beyond medicine, Meka enjoys teaching, having meaningful conversations, cave diving, playing soccer, swimming, and working out. He is honored to present at the AANS National Conference and looks forward to contributing to the advancement of patient care in neurosurgery.
