Dayna Carlson is a medical student at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU), anticipating her M.D. degree in June 2026. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering from Oregon State University.
She is passionate about pursuing medical research, with multiple publications and presentations, including work on hypercoagulability in ischemic stroke, hereditary transthyretin amyloidosis with polyneuropathy, and amyloid cardiomyopathy. Beyond academics, Dayna leads the Music as Medicine Student Interest Group, organizing musical performances for patients in hospitals and care centers. She also served as President of the Pediatrics Student Interest Group, fostering educational initiatives and community outreach.
Her volunteer efforts include administering vaccinations at Doernbecher Children's Hospital, assisting at women’s shelters, and supporting pediatric therapy programs. In her free time, she enjoys playing piano, collecting pressed pennies, and staying active through soccer and pickleball.
