Dr. Christian Joel Quinones, M.D., is a neurosurgery research assistant at Louisiana State University-Shreveport. He earned his medical degree from Ponce Health Sciences University in Puerto Rico and completed a general surgery internship with the University of Central Florida in Ocala, Florida. Before pursuing medicine, he worked as an Alaskan fisherman, played competitive soccer in Ireland, and won a national championship in soccer upon returning to the United States for his premedical studies.

His research focuses on minimally invasive spine surgery, robotics, intraoperative neuromonitoring, and artificial intelligence. Dr. Quinones plans to apply for a neurological surgery residency in the 2025-2026 application cycle. In his free time, he enjoys pickleball, fishing, and reading Brandon Sanderson novels.
