Shelby Oke (BS) is a second-year medical student at the Carle Illinois College of Medicine (University of Illinois). As a student at the world's first engineering-based medical school with two bachelor's degrees in mechanical engineering and biomedical engineering, the intersection of biomechanics and medicine is especially appealing to her. Shelby is interested in a career in neurosurgery, and is especially drawn to pathologies involving the spine.
