Michael Phan is a medical researcher and clinician with a strong background in global health, clinical research, and medical education. He is currently a Research Fellow at ORC Lab, Nagasaki University, Japan, where he focuses on tropical medicine and global health. His research interests span palliative care accessibility, cardiology, and neurology, with several ongoing projects in artificial intelligence applications in dementia and neurosurgical innovations.
Michael has extensive experience in clinical research, having participated in international programs such as the CanSupport Exchange Program in India and research initiatives at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. He has contributed to multiple peer-reviewed publications and presented his work at international medical conferences.
Beyond research, he serves as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Anatomy and has been involved in medical education exchange programs. His dedication to medical service was recognized with the National Honor of Excellence in Medical Service for his role as a frontline healthcare provider during the COVID-19 pandemic.
