Shelby Sabourin is an MD-PhD student in her second year of graduate studies at Albany Medical College. Since undergrad, she has been involved in research studying neuromodulation for the treatment of neurodegenerative and pain disorders. Her ongoing research interests include neuromodulation in Parkinson's disease, from the bench to the bedside, and she is particularly passionate about mentorship and increasing diversity in these fields of study. She aspires to enter the field of neurosurgery and integrate these interests into her clinical practice one day.
