Alejandra Valdivia is a PhD student in Physiology, Biophysics, and Systems Biology at Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences, in a joint program with the Houston Methodist Research Institute. She holds a BA in Biosciences from Tecnológico de Monterrey. During her time at the Center of Neuroregeneration at Houston Methodist, her research focused on different therapeutic strategies to improve functional recovery in Spinal Cord Injury Patients, including pharmacomodulation and electrical stimulation. Alejandra has clinical and basic research experience at Brigham and Women's Hospital, MD Anderson Cancer Center, and UC San Diego. She is dedicated to advancing translational research through interdisciplinary and multisystem approaches integrating experimental neuroscience with biomedical technologies.
