Dr. Bosco Seong Kyu Yang, MD, MPH, MSc, is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Neurosurgery at UTHealth Houston McGovern Medical School. Trained as a neuro-intensivist with a lifelong ambition to become a neurosurgeon, Dr. Yang brings a unique interdisciplinary background that bridges clinical neuroscience, epidemiology, and computational biology.
He has a background in Biochemistry (University of Michigan - Ann Arbor) and earned his Doctor of Medicine degree in South Korea. He pursued master’s degrees in Epidemiology & Biostatistics (MPH, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health) and Applied & Computational Mathematics (MSc, Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering). His clinical training includes a neurology residency, and critical care/vascular neurology fellowship at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital.
Dr. Yang’s research integrates genomics, single-cell/spatial transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics to uncover molecular mechanisms of acute brain injury (SAH, TBI, Ischemic stroke).
