My name is Satya Paruchuri and I graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology with a neuroscience focus and later from University of Pittsburgh with a B.S. in neuroscience (summa cum laude with departmental honors). Under Dr. Dandan Sun’s mentorship, I studied sodium-hydrogen exchangers and their impact on microglial phenotype and secondary inflammation post-brain injury. Since medical school at Virginia Commonwealth University, I have shifted my interest to clinical neuroscience research and am working with Dr. Paul Koch on clinical factors impacting efficacy of neurostimulation treatments.
