University of Pennsylvania
Samuel Tomlinson, MD, is a PGY-5 neurosurgery resident at the University of Pennsylvania. He has subspecialty interest in pediatric neurosurgery, epilepsy, and functional neurosurgery. His research focuses on understanding the pathophysiological underpinnings of refractory epilepsy through quantitative analysis of human invasive EEG recordings. This work interrogates cortical network dysfunction through examination of spontaneous paroxysmal abnormalities (e.g., interictal spike discharges) and evoked abnormalities (e.g., stimulation-induced seizures).
