Sheng-Tzung Tsai is a neurosurgeon and director and professor of department of neurosurgery at Hualien Tzu Chi Hospital and medical center in Taiwan. His work focus specifically on the neuromodulation techniques, such as deep brain stimulation and spinal cord stimulation for movement disorders and CNS injury such as spinal cord injury and stroke. In addition, his research also involves neurodegenerative diseases with cognitive impairment such as normal pressure hydrocephalus and dementia.
