Westchester Medical Center/New York Medical College, US
Ankita Jain, MS, is a Neurosurgery Research Fellow at Westchester Medical Center (WMC) and rising fourth-year medical student at New York Medical College (NYMC) School of Medicine in Valhalla, New York. Originally from Gaithersburg, Maryland, she graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2017 and Master of Science in Physiology and Biophysics from Georgetown University in 2018. After completing her Master's degree, she spent the next three years in three distinct roles - she worked at a health-based non-profit organization in Washington, DC, served as a Fulbright English Teaching Fellow at an all-girls boarding school in the North Indian Himalayas, and worked as a private, in-home teacher and mentor. As a medical student at NYMC, Ankita has led projects in various research groups and held leadership positions in several student organizations, including Student Senate and Association of Women Surgeons. During her neurosurgery research year, Ankita has served as primary site lead for eight clinical trials and helps run all medical student research for the Attendings in both the Neurosurgery and Neurology Departments at WMC. Outside of academics and research, Ankita enjoys solo trips abroad (recently returned from Japan!), SoulCycle, exploring the food scene in New York City, and spending time with family and friends.
