Sam Beniyel, MBBS, is a medical intern at the Department of Neurosurgery, Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (SRIHER), Chennai. Raised by his father, Kalastick Jebadurai, and grandmother, Pon Bathmavathy, Sam was profoundly shaped by their support. During medical school, he lost both of them—his father to hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy following a cardiac arrest. This deeply personal experience sparked his commitment to neurosurgery and neurology, with a focus on improving outcomes for patients with neurotrauma. He has led research on titanium cranioplasty in traumatic brain injury and is passionate about advancing evidence-based care in neurosurgical practice. Sam aspires to pursue academic neurosurgery, combining clinical care with translational research to honor the legacy of those who inspired his journey.
