Vincent Nguyen is an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY. He was born and raised in San Jose, California. He received his B.S. in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from the University of California, San Diego. He captained the NCAA Tennis team and received an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship to attend Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He spent a year between undergraduate and medical school at the Naval Medical Center, San Diego performing basic research on the molecular mechanisms of traumatic subarachnoid hemorrhage. He completed neurosurgery residency at the University of Tennessee/Semmes Murphey Clinic in Memphis, Tennessee. He then completed fellowships in Endovascular and Open Vascular Neurosurgery at the University of Southern California. He is passionate about cerebrovascular and skull base neurosurgery, surgical video production, clinical research, and resident education.
