Luis Savastano is a surgeon-scientist, inventor, and serial founder focused on cerebrovascular neurosurgery and solving unmet clinical needs by translational research and development of new technologies. He is a “hybrid” cerebrovascular neurosurgeon, specializing in the microsurgical and endovascular treatment of ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke at the University of California San Francisco. He serves as the UCSF Co-Chief of NeuroEndovascular Surgery, Medical Director, Cerebrovascular Neurosurgery, Head Surgeon for the MoyaMoya and Revascularization Program, Program Director of the CAST-approved Cerebrovascular Fellowship, and Principal Investigator of the TNTLab (tntlab.ucsf.edu). He is the lead inventor of multiple technologies currently in clinical use, and is the founder of several medtech companies including Endovascular Engineering and Endovascular Horizons.
