    Chibuikem Anthony Ikwuegbuenyi, M.D., is a research fellow in the Department of Neurosurgery at Weill Cornell Medicine. He specializes in Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery (MISS), degenerative spine disease, and global neurosurgery research. He previously served as an International Fellow at the Muhimbili Orthopedic Institute (MOI), a leading neurosurgical referral center in East Africa. He earned his medical degree from the University of Lagos, Nigeria, and is dedicated to improving neurosurgical care and outcomes globally, particularly in resource-limited settings.

    Dr. Ikwuegbuenyi has authored multiple publications on traumatic spinal injuries, expandable technology, and safety in MISS techniques. He contributes as an Academic Editor for PLOS ONE and a peer reviewer for multiple journals. As part of Weill Cornell Medicine’s Global Neurosurgery Initiative in Tanzania, he is actively involved in capacity building and neurosurgical training to enhance access to spine care in Africa.

    At the upcoming conference, Dr. Ikwuegbuenyi will present research on traumatic spinal injuries, post-discharge outcomes in low-resource settings, and various MISS topics. He looks forward to engaging with fellow researchers and clinicians to exchange ideas, refine strategies for improving spine care, and gain new perspectives on challenges in neurosurgical research. He is eager to collaborate and learn from others in the field.
