University of Minnesota
My name is Crina M. Peterson, and I am a MD, PhD currently completing my Neurosurgical residency training at the University of Minnesota. I am currently a PGY-4. I am married to Eric Peterson, a mechanical engineer and have two daughters, Mirela and Emma whom are my greatest accomplishments and both born during residency. I completed my medical and graduate training at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine with a degree in biomedical sciences with a focus in stem cell biology and human stem cell potential as a model for disease and therapeutic. My interests in Neurosurgery consist of functional, general/trauma, epilepsy, and vascular. I am currently a member of the Herman Darrow Human Neuroscience Lab, researching cognitive flexibility in patients with chronic pain, particularly facial pain and temporomandibular disorders. The lab employs various behavioral tasks and human electrophysiological recording to better understand brain circuitry, how individuals think, and any variations pertinent to various neurologic pathologies.
