Dr. Reza Dashti is an Associate Professor of Neurosurgery, and Radiology at the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University and Associate Director of the Stony Brook Cerebrovascular Center. Dr. Dashti received his medical degree from Cerrahpasa Medical School at Istanbul University in Turkey. He also obtained a PhD in the field of addiction genetics from Istanbul University during his tenure there. Dr. Dashti completed his fellowship in cerebrovascular neurosurgery and skull base surgery at Helsinki University, in Finland, and his fellowship in endovascular neurosurgery and spine surgery at University of Illinois Chicago. Clinically, Dr. Dashti’s area of focus is microneurosurgical and endovascular treatment of brain aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), carotid artery disease, moyamoya disease, skull base lesions, and stroke. His research is focused on treatment outcomes of ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, use of Artificial Intelligence in cerebrovascular surgery, and education in microneurosurgery.
