Nnaemeka (Meka) Nwoke is a third-year medical student at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine (BUCASM) with a strong interest in neurosurgery and clinical research. Born and raised in Enugu, Nigeria, he moved to the United States in 2014 to pursue higher education, earning his degree in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Psychology from the University of South Florida (USF) in 2018. Prior to starting medical school in 2023, he gained experience in medical education and patient care, working at the USF Morsani College of Medicine for 2 years and at a Neurology clinic for another 2 years.
At BUCASM, Meka is actively involved in neurosurgical and hematology research, with a focus on clinical outcomes and health disparities in underserved populations. He also serves a peer advisor and tutor for first-year medical students, providing mentorship and academic support. Beyond medicine, Meka is passionate about teaching, having meaningful conversations, and engaging in physical activity. He enjoys cave diving, playing soccer, and working out.
He is honored to present at the AANS National Conference and looks forward to contributing to the advancement of neurosurgical research and patient care.
