Venina Kalistratova is a third-year medical student at University of California Davis School of Medicine, currently conducting research with Dr. Manish Aghi as a research fellow at The Aghi Lab, UCSF. Her research focuses on metastatic pathways from the breast to the brain and the genetic and transcriptomic changes involved in them. Venina is interested in metastatic breast cancer research, neurosurgery, oncology and the brain microenvironment. She is also collaborating with Sadegh Lab at UC Davis where she studies how the choroid plexus reacts to brain microenviornment changes in the onset of cancer. In her spare time, Venina is working towards her Master Beekeeper certification.
