Alex Valadka serves on the faculty of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and leads the neurosurgery service at Parkland Memorial Hospital. He has served in numerous leadership roles in medicine, including Chair of the Washington Committee for Neurosurgery, President of the AANS, and Vice Chair of the ABNS, as well as key roles in other medical societies and research organizations. He attended the University of Dallas and the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. His interest in neurotrauma and neurocritical care led him to pursue residency training at the Medical College of Virginia. Following residency, he joined the faculty of Baylor College of Medicine and later worked at several other institutions in Texas before moving to Richmond. He returned to Dallas in 2022.
