Dr. Manas Panigrahi is a highly skilled medical professional who received his medical training from M.K.C.G Medical College in Berhampur, Orissa and pursued his M.Ch program at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) in Bengaluru in 1994. Later, in 1999, he completed a fellowship program in skull base and cerebrovascular surgery at Wayne State University in Detroit, USA. Dr. Manas currently serves as the HOD of Neurosurgery at KIMS Hospitals in Secunderabad.
Dr. Manas has been dedicated to clinical practice, training, and clinical research throughout his career. He has supervised numerous post-graduate higher degree students and authored multiple chapters in textbooks and over 100 publications in indexed, peer-reviewed journals in Neurosurgery. His h-index is 26, his RI score is 1568.8 and he has 2837 citations. He is constantly working towards developing cost-effective surgical techniques to make neurosurgery more affordable while minimizing complications.
Dr. Manas is highly experienced in cerebrovascular and skull base surgery, having performed more than 1000 aneurysm, 800 cp angle tumors,1000 epilepsy surgeries and 200 deep brain stimulations for Parkinson's disease. He works closely with the basic scientists of the University of Hyderabad on glioma and schwannoma research.
Dr. Manas is the President-Elect of the Neurological Society of India and is a member of the World Federation of Neurosurgery Education Committee. He is also on the advisory board of the International Pediatric Neurosurgery and serves as the Section Editor in Surgical Neurology International. He has been awarded many awards both in national and international levels and was featured as a game changer in healthcare by Outlook magazine in 2022.
