Mackenzie Miller, MS3, Medical Student, Marshall University Joan C Edwards School of Medicine.
I am a medical student with a deep passion for neurosciences, driven by personal experiences and academic pursuits. My research interests began with glioblastoma, where I developed novel in-vitro protocols to better mimic in-vivo conditions. I have also targeted miR-21 to inhibit glioblastoma growth. My current research focuses on Parkinson’s disease, exploring epidemiological factors and outcomes of deep brain stimulation (DBS) in movement disorder patients. As the first in my family to pursue medicine, I aspire to become an academic neurosurgeon, combining clinical practice with research to improve patient outcomes in neurology.
