Zuhair Hawa is a rising fourth-year medical student who is currently in his research year as a Dean’s Research Scholar at UT Southwestern. He graduated Cum Laude from Rice University with a degree in Bioengineering. Prior to joining the Pouratian Lab, Zuhair developed his research acumen at MD Anderson Cancer Center and the NIH. Now, he works on understanding the underlying mechanisms behind Parkinson’s Disease, utilizing advanced data processing and statistical analysis tools. In his free time, he likes to try new food, go hiking, and coaches various robotics teams in the DFW area.
