Medical Student
Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School
I’m Aafreen, a medical student at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School with interests in epilepsy, social determinants of health, and global neurosurgery. My research focuses on financial toxicity in brain cancer care, disparities in post-stroke care and future risk reduction, and the use of technology to improve patient understanding of care and comfort. Before medical school, I studied computer science at Harvard and conducted computational epilepsy research at MGH. Outside of medicine, I enjoy reading historical fiction, knitting, hiking, yoga, and finding new ways to use my immersion blender.
