    Dr K Sridhar qualified for the National Board in Neurosurgery in 1990 after his graduation (MB BS) from the Madras Medical College in 1982. His Neurosurgery training was under the pioneer neurosurgeon of India, Prof B Ramamurthi.
    He received further training in Micro Neurosurgery and Skull Base Surgery from Prof Gazi Yasargil and Prof Madjid Samii, Vascular surgery from Prof K Sugita and Neuro-Endoscopy from Prof Axel Pernecsky and Prof Gaab.

    Dr K Sridhar worked as a consultant Neurosurgeon and Assistant to Prof B Ramamurthi from 1990 to 2003. He then set up Centres of Excellence in Neurosciences and Spine in Chennai. He has spearheaded the concept of “Integrated Neuro Care” in Neurosciences to improve patient outcomes.

    He has several publications in international and national peer reviewed journals, has edited the Textbooks of Neurosurgery and Operative Neurosurgery, and has contributed chapters to Neurosurgical Books.
    He is an invited speaker at many national and international conferences.

    His areas of expertise that include the Cervical spine, Skull Base, Vascular Neurosurgery and Neuro-oncology, with pioneering work in OPLL, Brain Stem Surgery, Surgery for Tinnitus and Spinal Tumours.
    He conducts regular Hands-on Courses in Micro-Neurosurgery, training young neurosurgeons.

    Dr K Sridhar strongly believes that there is a need for building awareness regarding the brain and neurosciences among the public. He has special interest in Head Injury and Road Safety Awareness. He strongly believes that we need to educate the youth, who will be tomorrow’s leaders.

    “Dr Rajaratnam Oration Medal” by the Indian Medical Association
    “Dr Dayananda Rao Oration” by the Andhra Pradesh Neuroscientists Association
    He has been made an “Adjunct Professor” of the Dr MGR Medical University and the Sri Balaji Vidyapeet Deemed University in recognition of his academic and clinical work.

    “Healthcare Warrior Award” by the South Chennai Association
     
    He has been a member of the Executive Board and Council of several Societies including the Neurological Society of India, Indian Society of Neuro-Oncology, Skull Base Surgery Society of India, Association of Spine Surgeons of India and others.
    He has been the Organising Secretary of the Annual Conference of the Neurological Society of India at Chennai in 2016; the President of the 1st Virtual Conference of the Asian Congress of Neurological Surgeons in December 2020; and the Organising Chairman of the 69th Annual Conference of the Neurological Society of India, a fully virtual meeting.
    He has been the Hon. Secretary of the Neurological Society of India between 2022 and 2024. Here he has spearheaded Hands-on Courses for Young Neurosurgeons and improved educational models in the society.
    He is currently the President Elect of the NSI and will take over the office of President NSI in December 2025
