Dr. Hamani is currently Full Professor in Neurosurgery/ Surgery and Co-chair of the Neurosurgery research council at the University of Toronto. He is a Senior scientist at the Sunnybrook Research Institute, Research Director of the Hurvitz Brain Sciences Program, preclinical lead of the Harquail Centre for Neuromodulation and a neurosurgeon at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences centre. His research focuses on translational work and the development of novel therapies for movement disorders, pain, epilepsy, and psychiatric disorders.
