Nitin Tandon MD, FAANS, FACNS, FAES, FACS is Professor of Neurosurgery, VP fpr neuroscineces Startegy and Development at UT Health, Houston, Texas. He is co-director of the Texas Institute of Restorative Neurotechnologies, Chief of the Neurosurgery at Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center and director of the Epilepsy Surgery Program at the Texas Comprehensive Epilepsy Program.
Dr Tandon’s practice includes the surgical treatment of epilepsy, brain tumors, trigeminal neuralgia, radiosurgery and general neurosurgery. He has pioneered innovative technologies including robotic stereo-electroencephalography, laser interstitial ablation and other minimally invasive approaches to brain tumors and epilepsy. He has a particular interest in functional mapping and preservation during cortical resections. His research work is aligned with his clinical practice and is focused on the study of language and epilepsy via intracranial recordings and cortical stimulation. He has been the recipient of multiple NIH and NSF grants over the years and was awarded the STARS award by the State of Texas in 2019. He has authored over 150 peer reviewed publications.
