    David O. Okonkwo, MD, PhD

    Dr. David Okonkwo is Professor of Neurological Surgery and serves as Director of the Scoliosis and Spinal Deformity program at UPMC and as Director of the Neurotrauma Clinical Trials Center in the School of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Okonkwo is also Team Neurosurgeon for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He is Past Chair of the AANS/CNS Section on Neurotrauma and Critical Care. Dr. Okonkwo’s clinical and research interests are sports medicine, traumatic injuries to the brain and spine, as well as scoliosis and spinal deformity.
