Dr. Victor Staartjes is a neurosurgery resident (PGY-4) currently completing an enfolded fellowship in spinal surgery under Dr. Adrian Elmi Terander and Dr. Erik Edström. He has previously trained at the University Hospital Zurich under Prof. Luca Regli and Dr. Carlo Serra with main clinical interests in skull base and spine surgery. Dr. Staartjes is an active researcher in the Augmented Neurosurgery group, with specialization in the application of machine intelligence. He also is the principal investigator of the Machine Intelligence in Clinical Neuroscience (MICN) Laboratory at the University of Zurich.
