    Camillo Sherif, MD

    After finishing his MD at the Medical University of Vienna, Austria, in 2003, Prof. Sherif started his residency at this institution. After 3 years he moved to Switzerland, to the Cantonal Hospital oft Aarau and became research fellow at the University of Berne. He was educated and profoundly shaped by his mentor Prof. Javier Fandino during these years. After finishing his residency, he moved back to Vienna. In 2016 he became Chairman of Neurosurgery at the Sigmund Freud Private University in Vienna. In 2020 he moved as Chairman to the University Clinic St. Poelten, where he built up an interdisciplinary neurovascular team together with the radiological department and sucessfully established a quality management system cerified by the ISO 9001 norm. His clinical and research focus lies mainly in cerebrovascular diseases, including experimental as well as clinical research projects. He recieved several scientific prices and fundings and serves as reviewer for numerous journals and associated editor for Frontiers in Surgery.
